Fair use

Plain language on purpose. This is how PlainQuill treats the planning conversations, written to be read rather than to be survived. It describes what the service does today.

Planning chats are included with your plan, and the allowance is generous: it is measured against the articles you pay for each month. You have gone past it, so here is the policy, and your conversations carry on from here.

1. What the allowance is

You get 12 chat messages for every article you pay for in the month. That means the articles your plan produces, plus every extra article you buy and every free extra your plan includes. An account that is paying for no articles at all still gets 60 messages.

It is counted over a rolling thirty days, across the plan chat, the article chats and the conversation about your brand brief. The onboarding interview is not counted.

Almost every message costs one. A drafting turn, where the planner works over text you wrote yourself, counts as two.

2. It is generous on purpose

A week's plan takes a handful of messages to settle, and an article takes a few more. The allowance is set far above that, and no count is shown to you anywhere in the product, because a number on the screen makes people ration a conversation they have already paid for. We would rather you asked the same question twice.

3. What happens if you pass it

One message is not sent, and this page is shown to you with a button that says you have read it. After that your conversations carry on and the allowance does not refuse you again. Nothing else is affected: your plan, your queue, your published work and your schedule are untouched.

4. What we treat as abuse

Three patterns, all of them about automation rather than about enthusiasm: more than twenty messages in ten minutes, the same message five times in a row, or messages arriving faster than a person types. Any of them slows the chat for a few minutes and you are told so, in these words: "We are slowing this down for a while. Try again in a few minutes." Nothing is deleted and nothing is refused beyond the messages in those few minutes.

5. When we pause the chats on an account

We may pause the planning chats on an account being used to resell the planner, to extract the instructions behind it, or in a way that costs the service out of all proportion to the plan. You would see: "Planning is paused on this account. Contact support." We do this by hand, rarely, and it is reversible. Your content keeps being researched, written and published while it is in force.

6. Changes

This policy is version 2026-09-15. When it changes we post the new version here and ask you to read it once, the next time the allowance would otherwise have said nothing.

In force. It describes the limits the product enforces today rather than ones we might add later.

Get started

Run it on your own site

Checkout takes your first month, or your first year on annual billing, and the plan starts, on your own site and your own topics. You approve every piece before it goes live, and you can cancel any time from the dashboard. Ask within 7 days of a payment and you get all of it back while fewer than 7 articles have been generated since that payment. From 7 on, you get back the part that covers the articles not yet generated.
